The Austin Bed by Van Gogh Designs is a Canadian-made upholstered bed with a tall 50.5″ headboard and distinctive upholstered wings that extend forward at each side. Its clean stitched upholstery, substantial headboard and simple upholstered frame give the Austin a strong contemporary presence while maintaining a comfortable, understated look.
The Austin is made to order and can be upholstered in hundreds of Van Gogh Designs fabrics, allowing you to customize the colour, texture and performance level of the bed. Austin Bed Construction
The Austin uses a supportive metal frame and wood slat system beneath the mattress. King, Queen and Double sizes use a folding two-piece metal frame with wood slats, while the Single uses a one-piece metal frame with wood slats. The upholstered headboard and rails feature simple stitched detailing, with wood legs supporting the footboard and side rails.

A neutral fabric can give the Austin a warm, understated appearance, while a deeper colour or more pronounced texture can emphasize the tall winged headboard and make the bed a stronger focal point in the room. The wood legs are also available in Unfinished, Light, Dark, Walnut and Black.

Austin Bed – Upholstered Wingback Design
The defining feature of the Austin is its tall upholstered headboard with wings extending forward along each side. The wingback shape gives the headboard greater depth and presence, while the simple stitched upholstery keeps the overall design clean and contemporary. A low upholstered footboard and side rails complete the frame without competing with the headboard.
